Thought I was better, but the peculiar dreams seem to indicate not quite...
...That I was visiting with A***, an ex, amicably in Spain, the last chance we'd have to catch up...
...that my storage locker had fallen into the ground, and entering the top of it, clambering over the fallen boxes, I find a trove of silver bars, heavy, maybe 10KG each, there must be at least 50 of them here, I'm mentally doing the math, almost half a million dollars, I'm passing them up and out of the locker to K****, the boy's mother, she can use them...
...at the restaurant, not the restaurant, now a Chinese place in a mall, J***, an old customer, is letting people in, taking their coats up to a closet a few levels above instead of using the coat check, I'm annoyed, I shouldn't be here, it's not even open yet, but the place is busy...

The neighbor, my age, or thereabouts, is dying of pancreatic cancer. "1 week to live" a source at the hospital says, nurses are the worst, they see only what generally happens and never what could happen.
I've only met him a couple of times, but this hits close to home, he was a bit of a drinker, heavy smoker, he's in the hospital wearing out his last few days on earth...
I gotta quit drinking and smoking. Or cut back a lot. Being sick has done that for me, I'm not awake long enough to do any great damage there, already, when I'm not coughing or expectorating up great globules of phlegm I'm breathing clearer, but I have to make sure I follow up on this when I'm better...
...and it sets me to thinking, one week to live, I sure and the hell wouldn't want to be spending it in the hospital, time to start working on my finances and make sure I have some options open...

Kintsugi ("golden joinery"), also known as Kintsukuroi "golden repair"), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum...As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise...
More succinctly, finding (or creating) beauty and value in imperfection. The bowl was worthless, more so when it was cracked, but the repair elevated it to an object of art...

...Running into an old friend at Higher Ground a few weeks ago, Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders would be playing the last week of February, Thursday, and I made a mental note...
No chance of me seeing it. I'd seen it once, a long time ago, thought I'd seen it since but upon watching it tonight again realized that I hadn't. Most of it was new, most of it long forgotten, still a masterpiece, but I doubt one much for modern tastes. Times change.
