North of Revelstoke, still too much snow to reasonably explore. Next week again:

Bears, bears, everywhere. Fortunately looking sleek and well fed. 6 in one day!

The road North towards Mica Dam...

End of the road about 20 km past the Mica Dam

Staffs in the sand, resembling dragons, campsite.

Snowy river...

Promising vein of rotting, rusty quartz. West of Trout Lake, beside the road, I should have gathered some of the degraded rust and panned it, but as it was beside the road I told myself that it had doubtless been done before. That's piss-poor reasoning.

Copper in the ore. Promising. Should have panned it...Next Week!!!

Spray of Black Tourmaline (Schorl) in pegmatite. Mighty fine, but no other gems, and the tourmaline was largely crumbly.

So far, a nightmare of Ticks, hordes of other as yet unidentified biting insects, and very few finds. A new pegmatite, no gems...anyways, let the pictures tell the tale:

Striated & mineralized schist..

Green gob-spawn of some sort on quartz...

red crystal growths on pegmatite, looks like garnet, shaped like?

Garnets embedded in Schist.

Everywhere the Easter Poodle Doodles, little hidden treats dotting the Calgary urban cityscape, some coming soooo close to the garbage, resting on top...For Easter Sunday there should be a little hunt for all the children, they can collect them and unwrap the chocolates...
